Review: Revlon Lip Butters

Buttery, Pigmented, Smooth!

Today I wanted to talk a little bit about a few of my favorite Revlon Lip Butters.  I know that these have been out for quite some time now and that just about everyone has probably reviewed them, but I just wanted to share my thoughts with you and show you my go-to colors from this line.

I you haven't tried Revlon Lip Butters, what you should expect is a nicely pigmented, moisturizing lip product.  These apply smoothly and give you a nice wash of color and a pretty (not sparkly) sheen.  They have nice moisture content and wear similar to a lip balm.  Staying power is decent for the type of product it is.  I reapply every 1-2 hours which I think is par for the course with these types of colored balms.  There is no noticeable scent to these guys, in case you were wondering.

The colors that I enjoy most are (from left to right):
Red Velvet - a dark, almost oxblood red
Wild Watermelon - a beautiful pink-red
Tutti Frutti - a bright, coral-orange
Strawberry Shortcake - a girly, bubblegum pink

Below are swatches of each lip butter.  These swatches were done with just one swipe and they are definitely buildable.  Strawberry Shortcake and Wild Watermelon did translate as similar in this swatch, but they are definitely not!  Wild Watermelon is definitely my favorite of the bunch.  I tend to grab for it most often.

Revlon Lip Butters are available in sooo many additional colors, so if you're not crazy about these, take a look at the options in the drugstore.

Overall, I am a big fan of Revlon Lip Butters.  They are one of my favorite things to throw in my handbag and I'm set!

Do you have any of these?  Which ones do you love?

As always, thanks for reading!

Review - Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Thrilled

I Finally Got One!

As the title says above, I finally got one!  Meaning I have wanted a Tarte blush for literally years.  I mean, well...two years.  Maybe a little more.  I am SO EXCITED.

These blushes are just beautiful, not to mention amazing.  The line includes an amazing variety of shades that are all just gorgeous!

If you are wondering about this particular shade, it was exclusive to the Petite Treats Advent Calendar...HOWEVER, Dazzled is a very similar shade if you really like this one.  I would describe it as a light, shimmery pinky peach shade.  It is nicely pigmented and gives a beautiful little flush to the cheeks.  It reminds me of having a nice, chilly flush on the cheeks after spending sometime outdoors when it's snowing.  Yep.  That's where I went with that.

The staying power of the blush is just as they describe it.  I find that it sicks around all day until I take off my makeup, which is a definite plus when it comes to blush!  Nobody wants to start looking pale a few hours into their day...

I am so happy to finally have one of Tarte's blushes in my collection.  I most definitely want to grab another one in the future.  There are so many colors that I want, I don't even know where to start!

Do you have any of these blushes?  Which colors?

As always, thanks for reading!

Review: Tarte Maracuja Oil

I'm in Love...

I am so excited to bring you this review on Tarte's Maracuja Oil for the face.  I LOVE this stuff.  I was surprised by how much I fell in love with this stuff over the past month.

Tarte claims that this oil is a "miracle oil" that "targets your individual skin concerns" and gives you a boost of hydration and brightness to your skin.  Infused with Vitamin C, this oil is supposed to help even out and brighten your skin, leaving it looking refreshed.

I have to say that I completely agree with Tarte's claims for this product.  After just one use of this oil, my skin looked healthier and brighter.  It is a super lightweight formula that provides really nice hydration (I think winter is the best time to really test this since my skin is super dry this time of the year).  A few drops is all you need of this stuff, which is nice since it does have a fairly high price point.  I put about five drops in the palm of my hand, rub them together and pat the oil onto my face.  The oil sinks into the skin quickly, allowing me to apply my makeup not too long afterward (big plus for me).

Needless to say, overall I love love love this stuff.  I most definitely recommend it if you can drop the $46 bucks on a full-size bottle of it.  I absolutely plan to grab one when I feel comfortable with dropping that amount of cash on it.  It is worth it in my opinion!

I hope you enjoyed this review today!  As always, thanks for reading!
